Where there is no vision, the people perish ….
The Bible (Proverbs 29:18, KJV)

Are we Visionary or Visionless?
Outstanding people are proud to be who they are.
Who they are defines and determines what they do.
Do we Kenyans know who we are? Do we really know what we stand for?

It is not political ideology that will drive Kenya. It is a common vision that the people pursue, a common creed irrespective of differences in age, ethnicity, occupation, education, skill, talent etc.

Do we know our vision?

Are we an outstanding people or are we compromising our heritage by accepting mediocrity as our lot?
Life determines structure. Structure should not determine life. Structure should facilitate life within our vision.
Are we building structures and systems that support the life we envision for ourselves?
Or are we choosing to let the structures and systems already in place to stifle positive progress?
Are we gaining skills to simply get jobs or do we seek to address our needs?

As long as we are conditioned to think that education is the key to get a job, we will be operating from a very limited worldview. Beyond job hunting, are we deliberately nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset that addresses the needs of our people in our land.

Are we taking care of the resources we have to meet our needs today and the needs of yet- to- be-born Kenyans? Or are we being wasteful?

As its people are, so is a nation.
Effective vision is owned by all – the people and their representatives. Every person is important, none is insignificant. However small or big, each individual’s contribution builds to the whole.

Kenya’s Vision
In the language of our anthem, our vision is to be a blessed nation.
We envision ourselves as a blessed nation filled with thanksgiving.
The journey between being blessed and being thankful is in right living.
Right living is in honouring God in all we do.

Are we living to fulfil our vision or are we simply paying lip service to God of All Creation?
